Indesso Aroma has officially received approval from the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term decarbonization targets, making it the first company in Indonesia from its industry to achieve this milestone.
SBTi is a globally recognized initiative that helps businesses set emissions reduction targets based on climate science. By ensuring corporate actions are aligned with the Paris Agreement, SBTi plays a crucial role in driving meaningful climate action across industries.
Science-Based Commitments for a Sustainable Future
As part of its decarbonization strategy, Indesso Aroma is taking significant steps to reduce emissions across all scopes. Scope 1, which includes direct emissions from company-owned operations, and Scope 2, which covers indirect emissions from purchased energy, are being addressed through improved energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy. Meanwhile, Scope 3, which accounts for emissions across the value chain—such as raw material sourcing, transportation, and product use—is being tackled through enhanced sustainable sourcing and active collaboration with suppliers. Additionally, the company is strengthening its commitments to responsible land use and working towards zero deforestation for key commodities to reduce its impact on Forest, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions.
