Jakarta, 18 February 2025 – PT Indesso Aroma has secured a triple B score in the 2024 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) assessment for Climate Change, Water Security, and Forest, reaffirming its commitment to measurable sustainability strategies. Since registering with CDP in 2018, Indesso has consistently strengthened its environmental initiatives, earning a triple B rating for the past four years.
A significant milestone in Indesso’s sustainability journey is the implementation of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) analysis to evaluate a product’s environmental impact across its entire lifecycle—from raw material sourcing and production to distribution, and end-use. In 2023, Indesso began conducting LCA assessments for several key raw materials, marking a strategic step toward identifying areas for improvement. By analyzing data on carbon emissions, energy consumption, eutrophication, and acidification, the company can make informed decisions to reduce its environmental footprint and enhance resource efficiency.
“LCA serves as a crucial tool for us to understand the environmental impact of our products. By integrating this approach, we can identify hotspots in the supply chain, optimize production processes, and set more effective sustainability targets,” said Arianto Mulyadi, Corporate Communication and Sustainability Director of Indesso Group.
Beyond LCA, Indesso continues to implement low-emission technologies such as solar panels and Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) to support the transition to clean energy. The company has also set a Scope 1 & 2 emission reduction target for 2030, ensuring that sustainability remains embedded in its long-term business strategy. In the areas of Water Security and Forest, Indesso has taken proactive steps by adopting Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology for wastewater treatment, implementing rainwater harvesting systems, and ensuring that all forest-based raw materials are certified by Legal Wood, PEFC, and FSC.
Through these comprehensive efforts, Indesso reaffirms its dedication to sustainable business practices and environmental stewardship. By leveraging LCA and other sustainability initiatives, the company continues to innovate and contribute to a greener future while maintaining transparency through global reporting frameworks such as CDP.
