PT Indesso Aroma achieves B Score on Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) 2021. The SER provides a rating for how effectively companies engage their suppliers on climate change. CDP assesses performance on supplier engagement using a company's response to selected questions on governance, targets, scope three emissions, and value chain engagement. Indesso's score is higher than the global, regional, and chemical sector average.
Last year, PT Indesso Aroma got a double B on CDP Climate Change and Water Security Report. Indesso began documenting the company's carbon footprint in 2017. The primary focus is the direct and indirect emissions. The following year, Indesso invested in a renewable energy source by becoming the first company in the local aromatic and food ingredients industry to install an extensive solar photovoltaic system.
"We commit to reducing energy usage in our buildings and production process, including our supply chain. This year, we joined the 'Business Ambition for a 1.5oC' campaign led by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which encourages business leaders to actively cut emissions to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5oC above pre-industrial level," said Arianto Mulyadi, the Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability of Indesso. Indesso commits to implementing net-zero by 2040.
