  • HISTORY

    Indesso was established in 1968, starting in the field of aroma ingredients as a simple clove leaf oil distiller. Through modernization in equipment and advancement in technology as well as excellence in quality, we have become the world leader for Clove Leaf Oil, and a key manufacturer for Essential Oils and Aroma Chemicals.

    In 1974, Indesso expanded its business to the field of food ingredients industry, producing various Botanical Extracts, Seasonings, Sweetener Blends, and Thermal Processed Products. Moreover, throughout the years, Indesso has collaborated with various multinational companies such as Firmenich, Nexira, PureCircle, and Chr. Hansen that excel in their respective industries, as their distributor in Indonesia.

    As one of Indonesia’s key food and beverage ingredient manufacturers, we are devoted to the innovation and development of value added natural ingredients. In line with our tagline, “Unlocking Nature”, most of our raw materials are sourced from native botanicals unique to Indonesia.

      Indesso was established by Robertus Hartanto Gunawan as a simple clove leaf oil distiller in Central Java, Indonesia
    • 1974


      Partnering with Firmenich as the sole agent for Flavors and Fragrances in Indonesia
    • 1980


      Partnering with Nexira as the sole agent for Natural Hydrocolloids in Indonesia
    • 1992


      Started producing and exporting Eugenol
    • 1996


      Since 1996, Indesso has been ISO 9002:1994 certified in recognition to Quality Management System, which was then upgraded to ISO 9001:2008, and is continually upgraded according to the latest standard.

      New state-of-the art facility in West Java, Indonesia

      Started Culinaroma Seasonings, Savory Ingredients and Cheese Powders production
    • 2009


      Awarded as The Best Performing Exporter five times in a row by The Ministry of Trade Republic of Indonesia

      Organic certified for a range of Natural Extracts and Essential Oils

      Since 2010, Indesso has also been ISO 22000:2005 certified in recognition to Food Safety Management System, and has currently been upgraded to FSSC 22000:2013

      Partnering with PureCircle as the sole distributor for Stevia Extracts in Indonesia

      Started Sweetaroma sweetener solution production

      Indesso Baturaden Plant received ISO 14001:2004 certification about the Environmental Management System

      In December 2015, started a partnership with Chr. Hansen as the only distributor of Chr. Hansen’s Natural Colors and Coloring Foodstuffs for Indonesian market

      In June 2016, started partnering with Ballantyne as local marketer for their well-known cheese powder and specialty dairy powders

      Collaborating with Ballantyne, started Cheezaroma Cheese Powders production
